Westlife’s Shane Filan backs Louis Walsh’s X Factor exit: ‘He wanted to go out on top’09/08/2013 09:44
The X Factor’s veteran judge Louis Walsh has thrown in the towel to concentrate on managing Shane Filan of Westlife fame and seeking out the next 1D.
And Shane, 34, who went solo when the band split last year, couldn’t be happier for his longtime manager.
Backing Louis’ decision to bow out after a whopping ten series, he said: ‘Louis always does things 100 per cent. He’s had ten years on the panel, which is, I think, the longest judge ever on any panel.
‘It’s a pretty great run to have. And he just said, “I’d like to go out at the top.”‘

And Shane will no doubt have a hand in mentoring Louis’ forthcoming boyband.
He continued: ‘He’s held auditions already. There’s definitely a place for another band. There are not many bands singing ballads like we used to. There are ways of doing it that are different.
‘But Louis has had two very successful boybands and he knows where he’s at.
‘Louis will absolutely nail it when he does it. He usually does,’ he added to The Sun.
Sharon Osbourne has also made it clear that she’s back on the show for one series only and Gary Barlow has hinted that it may be his last season too.
